I believed then and believe now that the 2006 Supreme Court ruling in the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld case (in which the Supreme Court held that military commissions set up by President Bush to try detainees at Guantanamo Bay lacked "the power to proceed ), was flawed and wrong. But it does not matter what I, or anyone else think about the ruling. The MCA -- passed later in 2006 in reaction to the Hamdan decision -- is law and provides our most dangerous enemies more substantial rights than war crimes... (Human Events Online)
